Cavalry Soldier by George C. Marsters (US, ??-??), signed, circa mid 20th century, professionaly cleaned, framed - 31" x 39 1/4"
Unfortunately I could find virtually little on the artist. I did have someone reach out to me onlline claiming to be the artist's niece who said that Marsters wasn't a professional artist by trade. Whether he was self taught or received some training is unclear; however, there's no doubt of his artistic skills. Marsters obviously executed this paiting in the manner of illustration art, much like Norman Rockwell/Saturday Evening Post. To the asute viewer of this work, he left a a shrouded message.
