Graphite watercolor by Emlen Etting (Philadelphia, 1905-1993), circa 1960s, 8"x10 3/4".
Etting was a painter, sculptor, filmmaker, and a member of Philadelphia's elite Main Line Society. A Harvard graduate, he studied with artist Andre Lhote in Paris. In WW2 he served in the psychological warfare division of the Office of War Information. He corroborated with Orson Wells in recording the liberation of Paris.
