He was born André Paul Eugène Sieffert in Paris. He is noted in the Benezit Dictionary of Artists as a "Sociétaire Hors-Concours" of the Société des Artistes Français, indicating he was a member exempt from competition, and was awareded multiple medals during his career, which indicates he was a recognized painter during his time. Moreover, the Benezit Dictionary states that Sieffert exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris and received an honourable mention in 1939, a silver medal in 1943 and a gold medal in 1944 (for a painting titled "Portriat de ma Femme" (Portriat of my Wife)). Additionally, he and his wife, Jacqueline Sieffert-Beaufils, are both listed as painters in the Dictionary of Painters in Montmartre, an area of Paris were Modern Art was born.
