Portrait of a G.I.'s Little Brother by Unknown Artist, oil on artist board, circa 1950s-1960s, unframed - 14" x 18 1/2"

So the story with this painting goes as follows: A young American G.I. was stationed in what was then West Germany during the late 1950s/early 1960s. He carried around with him a cherished photo of his little brother. Missing his sibling, he asked a local West German artist to paint a copy of his little brother's photgraph. The painting and memory lives on.
