Hartman (KS, 1882-1960) studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He was a member of the Chicago Society of Artists, the American Watercolors Society and the Mural Painters of America. He was a mural painter for WPA and a magazine illustrator. His work can be found at the Met and the Brooklyn Museum.
